Probably no one will refuse to believe this artifact that, our B-town is one such place where some of the most creative people belonging to the ilk of cine making reside. And the extent of creativity of these dream merchants is such, that they seldom hesitate in experimenting or redefining the set rules. Be it about re-tailoring the cult masterpieces, remaking the western money spinners or even dealing with a sensitive topic like LGBT.

Our Bollywooders always manage to push forward the envelop carrying their perceptions about the same. So with Unfreedom joining the league of cine flick based upon theme of same gender sex, let's have a look at the sensuous cine cantatas which exposed the LGBT fascination of our Bollywooders.

Unfreedom

So far we have seen many cine spectacle circumscribed around the core of LGBT scratching the belly of moral cops, but this time the severity of controversy has gone onto the next level, where the makers of "Unfreedom" have literally locked the horns with the Censor Board. Though "Unfreedom" has two cine plots running in parallel, but the one which has fumed the messiahs of Censor board is the one involving the carnal endeavor of two of the leading ladies of the movie.

Fire

Many of the cine-literati considered "Fire" as the union of two acting legends i.e. Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das. But for some, this scorching hot cine delight of its time was nothing more than a cine depiction of socially undesirable gaucherie, showcasing the libidinal desperation of two married women.

Girlfriend

Probably while making this one of the most controversial cine flicks circumscribed around the concept of "alternate sexuality", its maker Karan Razdan wouldn't have thought off in his remotest dreams, that because of its "controversial theme", Girfrined will make him a known name with in no time. This Isha Kopppikar and Amrita Arora starrer explored the theme of alternate sexuality, where the two women protagonist end up having feelings for each other.

The Little Masters

I Can't Think Straight

Starring starring Lisa Ray and based on a novel with the same name, "I Can't Think Straight", portrayed the story of a London-based girl of Palestinian descent, who's preparing for an elaborate wedding, but a turn of events causes her to have an affair with another woman.

Monica
Roughly based on the life of murdered journo, Shivani Bhatanagar, "Monica" too narrates the story of small-town girls, who are ready to do anything to make it big in the city and how they end up getting close to each other to satiate their libidinal desires.

Ye Kya Ho Raha Hai

After literally taking the small screen by storms, bold and beautiful, Payal Rohtagi once again made every men lose his sanity, when she teamed up with, Tina Mazumdar and unveiled her carnal instinct for Shrey Shrivastav's, "Men Not Allowed".

The Other Side

Dunno Y... Na Jaane Kyon

Though this film directed by, Sanjay Sharma was screened at various international film festivals, but it disappeared from our multiplexes soon after its release. It apparently features the first gay kiss (between Aryan Vaid and Kapil Sharma) in Indian cinema.

Bomgay

In the same year as "Fire", came a 12-minute gem of a short film called "BomGay" by late activist-director Riyad Wadia. Inspired by R. Raj Rao's gay poems and featuring Rahul Bose and Kushal Punjabi, it was poetry on celluloid.

Safe Players

Ragini MMS 2

Although "Ragini MMS 2" was touted to be a Horrex by the makers, but in spite of that keeping in view the legacy of, Sunny, makers tried to cash upon the her image. And in order to showcase her sensuality and image in a somewhat different shade, in "Ragini MMS 2" makers made this sex godess do a lip lock with another woman i.e. Sandhya Mridule.

Heroine

Undoubtedly this Kareena starrer was more about the unseen side of showbiz, but it also explored the theme of lesbianism in a subtle manner, where our damsel in distress, Kareena gets intimate with her onscreen friend Shahana played by Divya Dutta.
