'Piku' star Amitabh Bachchan has become the first Bollywood celebrity to have 15 million followers on popular micro-blogging site Twitter.

The 72-year-old megastar beaten his contemporaries Shah Rukh Khan (13.3 million), Salman Khan (12.2 million), Aamir Khan (12.9 million) and Priyanka Chopra (9.81 million) with his new milestone.

Bachchan's Twitter account became live in May, 2010 and ever since has been a one stop destination for his fans to connect, interact and engage with the actor.

Followed by stars like Mukesh Bhatt, Sridevi, Dilip Kumar and Madhuri Dixit among others, the actor is one of the most frequent user of the Twitter.

Bachchan has so far made 41.6 thousands tweets.
