Kangana Ranaut has been busy garnering applause and accolades. After delivering hits on two consecutive years, it does seems like she is at the top of her game. However, the climb hasn't been easy for Kangana. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actress has been quoted as saying that when she was 18 and struggling to get a chance in the industry, she saw a man named Surya Narayan Singh, balancing his entire body on one hand, and doing gymnastics at Juhu Beach, and asked him to teach her the art. She has also confessed that she had lost interest in life and used to think as to what was the purpose of life. AroundFashion, since she was doing depressing roles, she had started thinking about mortality. At that point, her guruji (Surya) had introduced her to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda. She adds that Vivekananda has been the biggest influence for her and helped her through at a weak point in her life.
While Kangana had a tough time before she made it big, she also says that she is the only A-lister who has done as many B-graders.
The Queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut, knows her worth and does not mince her words while putting it across. "When you are doing larger than life films with superstars, you don't get equal opportunities. Roles are written for them because the audience goes to watch them. But I want a role which is of equal importance," she said in an interview with Mumbai Mirror. She further added, "At 18, I wanted to work with the creme de la creme because I thought that was the only way to be successful. But I don't think any A-lister has done as many B-grade films as I have. Today, all I want is 50:50 on paper."

She said, "It's good when you're in one (relationship) and not bad when you're not. Right now I'm not but I enjoy my time alone. Some days I asked myself why I was the 'unlucky one'. But I didn't lose heart even when I was left with a broken heart. My troubles have made me a better person."
