Apparently, Salman Khan recommended his good friend Adnan Sami's name over a qawwali singer for the dargah track in his upcoming film 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' Salman Khan is known to go out on a limb to help his friends. So when he decided to include his favourite qawwali Bhar do jholi meri, originally sung by Sabri brothers of Pakistan, in his upcoming film 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', he apparently brought good friend Adnan Sami on board.

This, despite the fact that Adnan has not tried his hand at this particular music genre earlier, reveals an insider, and also that music director Pritam was keen to rope in a qawwali singer from the neighbouring country to record the song.

"Salman and Adnan have been friends for a long time now. He heard the scratch recorded by Imran Aziz Mian, son of the legendary qawwali singer Aziz Mian, but felt that Adnan's voice would do justice to the song," the insider adds.

'Bhar do jholi meri' has enjoyed decades of popularity in Sufism circles. A few months ago, a media release from Pritam read: "Salman felt if Adnan sings and acts in the video, it will be more impactful."
