Orissa's marathon kid Budhia Singh, who created a world record by running 65 km in seven hours and two minutes in the state last week, may soon be seen in a Hollywood film.

US film production company Foster Entertainment has evinced interest in making a film on Budhia's life, local newspaper Dharitri reported Monday, quoting the boy's coach Biranchi Das.

A company official reportedly contacted Das with the proposal on Sunday.

Four-and-a-half-years-old Budhia has been shown on almost all TV channels in India and a French channel has also shot a documentary on him.

Touch Productions Ltd, a UK-based documentary film unit, had planned a documentary on Budhia and even invited him to London next week. However, Budhia's trip was put off, Das told the daily.

The shooting stands cancelled for the time being with no reason given for the delay, he added.

Budhia's sporting adventure ran into trouble with the state government imposing a ban on his marathon run on the basis of a medical report that said he was "undernourished with a high blood pressure".

The team of doctors has also said that Budhia may face the risk of a stroke if made to run a marathon, a report that Das slammed as "manipulated".

Das and his wife adopted Budhia after paying Rs.800 to his impoverished mother, who lives in a slum.

The boy became a celebrity after a 60 km run between Puri and Bhubaneswar last year. Budhia runs 45 km twice a week and 20 km on other days.

The boy had last Tuesday earned a place in the Limca Book of World Records running 65 km from Puri to Bhubaneswar.
