Women centeric films have been raking moolah at the box office in the last couple of years. Be it Dirty Picture or Queen these films have been loved by audiences and performed well at the box office week after week.

While the year 2015 only has a quarter left, we take a quick look back to check how this trend has continued to do well this year.

Masaan: The film earned accolades across borders. Richa essayed a very different role and her performance was loved by critics and audiences. The film situated in the heart of India had an earthy look. Richa essays the role of a powerful, thinking, independent girl who does not bow down to social norms and or does not feel apologetic because she is expected to.

Tanu Weds Manu: Kangana played a double role and both her characters Tanu and Datto were loved. Kangana has come out as an out and out performer with back to back progtanisit roles and even in TWM she does complete justice to both her characters.

Piku: Deepika's role in the film was absolutely loved. She essayed the role of a girl who is not apologetic about her choices. She flawlessly depicts the role of a girl who is modern on the outside and yet has traditional values intact.

NH10: Anushka's performance in the film left the audiences in shock and aww. She essays the role of Meera, a strong independent woman. Anushka takes on crazy killers in Bollywood's first slasher road trip film.
