Close on the heels of a police complaint against Bollywood ‘item girl' Rakhi Sawant for obscene gestures at a recent stage show, an organisation fighting for men's right reportedly approached a local court to restrain her from repeating the act in the district.

A day before her programme for the police Kalyan Nidhi on Saturday at Vishrambaug, an organisation named ‘Purush Hakk Suraksha Samiti' reportedly approached the local court seeking to restrain her from performing there on the ground that she indulged in obscene and vulgar acts that were against public morality.

However, sources at the Vishrambaug police station, under whose jurisdiction Sawant performed on Saturday evening said they had not received any court directions in this regard so far.

"We had heard that an organisation called ‘Purush Hakk Suraksha Samiti' had filed a complaint against Rakhi Sawant in the court here. Upon receiving the necessary instructions from the court, we will undertake the required investigation and further action in the matter," they said.

The Bollywood artiste has left the town for her next destination after performing there, they added.

Sawant had performed at Kolhapur on May 18 as a brand ambassador for a beer brand wearing skimpy costume leading to filing of a police complaint against her for indecent behaviour and gestures.

When contacted on Saturday, Sawant appeared unperturbed and said, "I have so far not received any notice or intimation from the police in connection with this case".
