The Brad Pitt-Cate Blanchett starrer ‘Babel', which premiered at the Cannes Film festival this year and received 3 awards, including honours for Best Director, The Technical Grand Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury, will have a simultaneous release in India and the US next month.

E-City films, distributors of movies such as Alexander, Million Dollar Baby, Sahara, A history of Violence and The new world in the past, would be releasing Babel in India.

A press release issued here today said ''Babel'' was an emotionally shattering drama and the final chapter in the trilogy after the much-acclaimed ‘Amores Perros' and ‘21 Grams' for director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

The movie recently became a hot topic of discussion when the reputed international website imdb.com (International Movie Data Base) mentioned Shilpa shetty and Mahima Chaudhry's name in the film's cast, even though they were not working in the movie.

The title of the movie refers to the tower of Babel in the ancient town of Babylon, where humans thought they themselves were gods and could reach the heaven without his help. The film explores the subject of Relationships and plays around the themes of love in adversity.

It revolves around four interweaving stories set in Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan. Even though it is not a fear-mongering movie, it is highly unpredictable and shocking.

And although Indian audiences would have to wait for some more time to see a Bollywood starlet cast opposite Brad Pitt, there is a lot of enthusiam among people for Babel, as this tale of hartbreaking and devastating human drama will remain with the audiences even after they will leave the theatre.
