Perceiving a threat to his life following the firing incident at his office, film maker Mahesh Bhatt has been given police protection from today.

"Yes, I have been given police protection as they feel that there is a threat perception. I did not ask for it, in fact it will be excess baggage, but it cannot be helped," Bhatt told.

Additional Police Commissioner (West Region) Bipin Bihari told that police protection has been given to Bhatt at office, residence besides personal security in wake of today's incident.

Bhatt, however, seemed unshaken by the incident, saying "I did not want any kind of police protection at all, because I am not scared, but the authorities feel that way, so I have agreed," he added.
