The film's protagonist Sonam Kapoor is humbled by King Khan's gesture, and has thanked the team of `Dilwale` for giving a good start to the movie.
The daughter of actor-producer Anil Kapoor took to Twitter to share the news with her followers.
She posted: "Thank you @iamsrk and @RedChilliesEnt for giving the film #Neerja this platform! Catch the trailer of #Neerja with #Dilwale on 18th December!"
`Neerja` is based on the life of a young flight attendant. She was just 22 when she sacrificed her life to save a group of American children aboard a Pan Am flight that had been hijacked on the ground at Karachi in 1986.
Shah Rukh also wished her luck for the film. He responded to her tweet by saying `It's our pleasure. All the best for the film".
Directed by debutant Ram Madhvani, `Neerja` is presented by Fox Star Studios and is co-produced by Bling Unplugged.
The film also features veteran actress Shabana Azmi as Bhanot's mother, and will hit the screens on February 19 next year.
Meanwhile, `Dilwale` brings back one of the most loved onscreen couples - Shah Rukh and Kajol - after five years. It promises a ride filled with action, adventure, music hoopla, romance and surprises.
The Rohit Shetty directorial features an ensemble cast of stars like Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Boman Irani and Sanjay Mishra.
