Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, seen as a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster in Bejoy Nambiar's latest directorial "Wazir", has thanked his fans for the "love, appreciation and patronage for the success" of the drama thriller film.

"Wazir", which also stars Farhan Akhtar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Aditi Rao Hydari and John Abraham, minted Rs.21.01 crore in its opening weekend.

"Thank you world for your expression of love appreciation and patronage for the success of 'Wazir'," Amitabh posted on Twitter on Tuesday.

"The smile of achievement is the glory of those that made 'Wazir' so special: The audience. Thank you," he added.

The "Piku" actor also shared that the footfall on Monday for "Wazir" is "greater than the first day".

The story of "Wazir" revolves around two unusual friends - a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster and a grief stricken ATS officer (Farhan), who are brought together by a peculiar twist of fate as part of a wider conspiracy that has cast a dark shadow over their lives.
