Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali says he doesn't want to be cut off from theatre.

"If I feel capable or if there is an urge, maybe I'll write and maybe I'll direct," Ali said at the Khidkiyaan Theatre Festival on Wednesday.

His 2015 release "Tamasha" also had theatre as a strong backdrop.
