Despite an ankle injury, Riteish Deshmukh participated in the CCL ( Celebrity Cricket League) season 6 match and even helped his Mumbai Heroes team win the game.

Riteish Deshmukh is counted among one of the better cricket players in Bollywood. Its not surprising then that Riteish Deshmukh is an integral part of the Mumbai team- Mumbai Heroes of CCL tournament. But the latest season didn't start on a great note for the actor, as he injured his ankle right before the first match. Since Riteish is also the Mumbai teams captain this season, his injury gave his team members a scare. However, the Grand Masti(2013) star went on to play the match despite the plan.

'Riteish hurt himself during a practice session, when Bobby Deol bowled a yorker that accidentally hit Riteish directly on his ankle. He was in a lot of pain and a doctor was consulted immediately, who used an ice pack to curb the pain and swelling,' says an insider.

The actor had to leave the practice session midway. but the biggest worry for the team was whether he would be able to play the first match, since he is an important all-rounder for the team.

We couldn't reach Riteish but Vikas Kapoor, the co-owner of the team, said ' The injury did scares us, but it was great to have Riteish back on the field soon after, and to see him play the game and eventually lead us to victory.
