Sonu Sood's father, Shakti Sood, passed away on Sunday in their hometown, Moga, in Punjab. He was 77.

The actor was at home when his father suffered a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to the hospital, but pronounced dead on arrival.

The funeral ceremony is slated for today. The actor's mother, Saroj, passed away in 2009. Sonu has two sisters - Monika and Malvika.
