After more than a month of speculation, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has broken his silence on split with Ankita Lokhande and revealed the reason behind their break-up!

Ever since rumours of Sushant and Ankita calling it quits started doing the rounds, there were reports speculating the reason behind the couple ending their six-year relationship; right from Ankita being an alcoholic to Sushant's growing closeness to his co-stars. The duo, however, never spoke about their relationship status in the public.

However, yesterday evening, Sushant took to Twitter to clear the air. Not only did he confirm the split, but also revealed the reason behind ending the relationship. Here's what he has to say:

Neither she was an alcoholic nor I am a womaniser . People do Grow apart & its unfortunate . Period!!

Sushant and Ankita began dating while shooting for Ekta Kapoor's drama 'Pavitra Rishta' in 2009. Last year, Sushant had announced he would be tying the knot with Ankita in December this year.

Sushant and Ankita join the list of Bollywood couples who have called it quits this year including Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar-Adhuna Bhabani.
