Though Richa Chadha is from New Delhi, she was born in Amritsar and has family and friends residing there. But it took her upcoming film 'Sarbjit' to reconnect with her roots.
During the shoot of the film, Richa had an opportunity to spend a considerable amount of time experiencing both the rural and the city life of Punjab as a chunk of the biopic was shot there.
During her stay in Amritsar, Richa went back to the house she was born in. Says Richa, "I have always been a Punjabi at heart, but I fell in love with the place all over again while filming."
"The lush green fields, the sarson ka saag and the beautiful landscape. The farmers provide for most of North India, while Punjabis contribute immensely to the Army, to sport and to business. I feel nostalgic about it because it's also the personal history of my family. I feel at home there."
