The long-in-the-making Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Chitrangda Singh starrer, 'Babumoshai Bandookbaaz', has got a fresh lease of life. Kushan Nandy's film rolls in Lucknow today as a brand new project and whatever was shot earlier has been dumped.

The project was announced almost two years ago and had grabbed eyeballs for the unusual pairing of Nawaz and Chitrangda. In December 2014, the film went on the floors with a schedule in Kolkata, Bolpur and Burdwan in West Bengal. But the shoot was brought to a halt due to several issues. There were reports about alleged trouble with technicians and non-payment of dues that mounted production costs. This made the unit return to Mumbai and reschedule the shoot. There was also speculation about the fate of the project, but now things have been resolved and the film is back on track in a new location - Uttar Pradesh.

Says Nandy, `This is a completely new film. We are not using anything from the previous shoot. Today is the first day of the shoot with Nawaz and Chitrangda.`

The unit will be filming at the Chinhat-Deva road in Lucknow.

Nawaz shot for a brand endorsement in Mumbai early yesterday morning and then directly headed to the airport to catch a flight to Lucknow for the shoot.

Chitrangda is back on the big screen after a hiatus. She was last seen in I Me Aur Main (2013) besides an item number in Gabbar Is Back (2015).
