Filmmaker Hansal Mehta says making digital archives for Indian cinema is the need of the hour.
Mehta expressed his views after watching a presentation by Indiancine.ma -- an annotated online archive of Indian films. The online platform is intended to serve as a shared resource for film scholars and enthusiasts in India and beyond.
The `Aligarh` maker tweeted: `Delighted to see presentation by indiancine.ma, an outstanding digital archive that needs our support. Thank you Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan`.
In the past, veteran actor and filmmaker Kamal Haasan had also shared that there is a "need to grow a resource of passionate film archivists" in India.
