It looks like after spending so many years in showbiz, now Salman is no longer interested in competing with anyone else, and instead prefers to compete with himself.

If reports are to be believed then 'Sultan' received a bumper opening at the box office and has raked in Rs 36.54 on day 1. Though this opening collection of 'Sultan' fell short of the first day collections of the Sallu Bhai's last release, 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' which earned Rs 40.35 crore on the opening day, but in spite of that 'Sultan' has managed to emerge as the biggest opener of 2016.

However, trade experts were expecting that 'Sultan' will conveniently cross the Rs 40 crore mark on day one as it was released on 4350 screens across the globe.But with Eid arriving a day late in this part of the world, the business of 'Sultan' got marginally impacted.

With positive word of mouth spreading about 'Sultan', now it will be interesting to see that how quickly it manages to get a place in 100 crore club. So all you die-hard fans of Sallu Bhai, let's see if 'Sultan' ends up being the biggest BO grosser of Indian cine history or not.
