According to earlier reports there were buzz that Ajay Devgn is hosting the show this season. The actor was approached to replace Kumar as the host five years ago in Season 5 but that deal never materialised. Devgn's good friend and longtime collaborator Rohit Shetty was finalised as the host and he went on to helm the show in Season 5 and 6 before being replaced by Arjun Kapoor in the most recent season.

Now, he is all set to host the eighth season of the show. Devgn cleared the air through a tweet that read: "Shooting nonstop since past 5 months ?? Getting a much needed break, waiting for Rohit to leave for Khatron Ke Khiladi."

Both Devgn and Shetty are currently shooting for Golmaal Again in Hyderabad. While Devgn has Milan Luthria's action thriller Baadshaho line up for release in September and then Golmaal Again in October, he has his hands full and could not commit to hosting Khatron Ke Khiladi this season.

Since Arjun Kapoor was also unavailable owing to filming commitments, Shetty once again hopped in to host the show.

Some other reports suggest that the filmmaker will soon leave for the shooting in Spain on any date between 12 and 15 May. They will be shooting in Ronda, a town in the province of Malaga. The show will start airing in July.
