On 7 th May, 2017, an elite gathering of book-lovers was treated to a delightful session of inspiring tales from Uttar Pradesh, at Bandra's Title Waves. The bookstore was playing host to the launch of director-cum- writer Tanuja Chandra's book, 'Bijnis Woman', a collection of short stories from the people of UP.

The event opened with MC Mukti Mohan, whose appearance was followed by that of Tanuja and the renowned director, Rajkumar Hirani. The author shared her experiences of the northern state, covering some funny moments that included everything from train stations to thieves and unfired guns while Raju Hirani revealed that some scenes in Three Idiots, including the mutra visarjan one, were based on true stories, inducing unrestrained laughter in the audience. Soon after, others in the audience, like influencers Rakesh Maria and Abhijat Joshi, joined the storytelling ensemble.

To wrap things up, Mukti read out a chapter from the book while Rakesh provided a kick of entertainment by beatboxing to it. The launch ended successfully and on an enjoyable note as the audience trickled out, still discussing the tales they had heard and clutching their very own copy of 'Bijnis Woman'.
