On the occasion of the birthday of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan, his student Sonu Nigam celebrated it along with another reason of the Padma Vibhushan Honour bestowed upon his guru. The Cover of Ustad Ji autobiography was also launched at the event. The entire music industry was present to be a part of this mega music event.

Javed Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Salim Merchant, Shaan, Suresh Wadkar, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Roop Kumar Rathod, Alka Yagnik, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Sameer Sen, Meet Bros, Arman Malik, Hrishikesh Chury, Priya Saraiya, who were amongst the many present at the event. Politician Sanjay Nirupam was also present.


Sonu Nigam said, `Guruji is like my Father and this year he received the Padma Vibhushan; today we all have gathered to celebrate his 87th birthday and the Padma Vibhushan honour. I have learnt a lot from him and am thankful to God to bless me with such a Guru."
