Baaghi 2 has been on the cards for a while after a successful outing with Baaghi for Tiger Shroff and team. There is expected action, which in many terms is quite impressive, along with dance but the movie falters with a weak storyline.

Baaghi 2 is a story of a brave and enigmatic Army officer Ranveer Pratap Singh (Tiger Shroff) who goes on a hunt to find the daughter of his ex-girlfriend Neha (Disha Patani) after she requests him for his help. Neha tells Ranveer that her daughter got kidnapped two months ago and she feels helpless as all her efforts have gone in vain. As the story unfolds Ranveer is told by some that Neha never had a daughter which is confirmed by her husband Shekhar (Darshan Kumar) who says that Neha is suffering from post-traumatic disorder leading to her hallucinations. Neha remains adamant but when Ronnie doesn't agree she takes a drastic step which changes the whole narrative.


So is Neha telling the truth or no? Is there conspiracy which is to unfold? And if Neha has a daughter will Ronnie be able to rescue her and complete his mission. To watch all this one has to go to the cinema.

The performance of Tiger Shroff is really good. He is brilliant at action sequences and dancing but still needs to work on his acting skills. Overall he has certainly established himself as an action-hero who can carry the film on his own shoulders. His entry sequence and action once he lands in Goa is what action lovers have to go and see. He is certainly a superstar in the making. Disha Patani essays the role well but her acting doesn't seem convincing enough. Still, both look good as a couple and that's a plus.


Manoj Bajpayee (Ajay Shergill) is spot on as expected. Prateik Babbar (Sunny) also holds his act together quite well. The real shining star is Randeep Hooda (aka LSD) who adds a real spark to the whole movie with his colorful character. Deepak Dobriyal (Usman) makes the script lively with his one-liners. The rest of the actors don't have much to vouch for.

The flow of the movie is really patchy during the first half with a lot of characters being introduced which adds to the whole confusion. It only gets better once the action sequences begin in the 2nd half of the movie. The movie is adapted from Telegu Kshananam and as expected the plot doesn't quite deliver. One wonders if the makers thought that the viewers won't be able to see through the totally illogical sequences. The story is twisted and the flashbacks make it even more incomprehensible. The script surely makes the whole movie weak.

Ahmed Khan has improved a lot over his past outings but leaves a lot to be desired. He is still mastering the art and is nowhere near other acclaimed directors. The cinematography though makes the movie really watchable with beautiful aerial shots. Coming to action which is the main selling point of the movie it is really good. Tiger Shroff adds his own spark and the awe factor even though the action goes a bit overboard. But still, that's what we go to watch it for!


Apart from that the songs are good but are added abruptly and the editing could have been a bit better. Watching the song 'Ek do teen' actually kindles the old Madhuri nerve but Jacqueline and makers of the film fail to live up to the song.

Overall I must say that the movie is on expected lines with brilliant action, but one should not expect much from the script. Action lovers should surely go and watch it especially for Tiger's performance. Other than that this is just a one-time watch.
