When we hear about October, many of us just think about autumn, a month or if I talk about this part of the world where we live then maybe it's the onset of the festive season. These are just a few perceptions which we foster about October. But if I have to talk about Shoojit Sircar 's recent release cine flick then it October is miles above the common perceptions. To be more precise it's more than those widely prevailing idiosyncrasies. In fact, it won't be wrong to say that October is a life journey in itself. Evokes emotions, makes you anxious and compels you to contemplate. Well, I won't mind even saying that by the time this masterpiece of Shoojit reaches its culmination you are numb while waiting to have a rendezvous with reality. October triggers a battle of emotions within you with an entirely different story playing in your subconscious. Despite knowing that it's just a cine chronicle you couldn't resist drowning in those emotions. And by the time the end reaches you are simply speechless because October takes you to an altogether different zone.

'October' revolves around the lives of Danish Walia aka Dan (Varun Dhawan) and Shiuli (Banita Sandhu), both are hotel management trainees, who get connected with each other after a sudden turn of events. How they cope up with the sudden change in their lives and what life has in stores for them is interesting to watch.

Though the trailer of the film garners lots of accolades from critics and fans the film failed to impress. The narration is as per Shoojit Sircar's standards and has beautifully ached all the emotions from the actors. Writer Juhi Chaturvedi has done a brilliant job with its story.

Shoojit Sircar the master craftsman has done a great job by getting best out of his cast. He has proven that romance and songs are not necessary to make a good film. When you have a good script and brilliant narrative the film will leave an impression.

The pain and emotions of Shiuli and her mother can bring tears to your eyes. Varun Dhawan as Dan is brilliant and after watching his recent performances we can say that Varun has surely evolved himself over the years. He has tried his best to be in the shoes of Dan. Banita is impressive in her debut movie. She has beutifully portrayed the character of Shiuli and gave life to her character.

The cinematography and backdrops of the film are brilliant and will give you perfect feel of autumn.

Overall a good film but not for masala lovers.
