Rape is one of the most horrendous of the crime in this world. It not only harm a victim physically but also breaks a person, mentally and emotionally as well. Mostly, when a woman is raped, she's not in a state of recovering from it emotionally and mentally properly. Also, mostly these women experience extreme depression and they even think of killing themselves as well. But on the other hand, there are women who stand up against the evil and work hard for their career and make it to the top. Here are few female celebrities, who worked hard even after going through this horrible experience.

Kalki Koechlin

You'll be surprised to know that she was once sexually assaulted at the age of 9. She revealed this incident at a press conference by an NGO owned by veteran actor Rahul Bose. This NGO works towards the welfare of Children and focuses on the fact that no child should feel alone and should go through sexual abuse.

Sofia Hayat

Sofia Hayat, once herself revealed it to the world that she was sexually abused and assaulted at the age of 10 and it was a horrible experience. This actress in the year 2011, made an appearance in "Diary of Butterfly".

Kangana Ranaut

We often hear about celebrity relationships but we forget the fact that they are also humans. Kangana Ranaut talked about her experience of sexually abusing during the book launch of Barkha Dutt, named "This Unquiet Land". She herself revealed about her abusive relationship with someone from the same industry and revealed that he used to both physically and sexually abuse her at most of the occasions.

Sheila Ray
Sheila Ray was one of the most famous Fashion models of 70s. She later also married to a famous Bollywood Actor Sudhir who worked in famous movies like Satte Pe Satta and Badshah. She was once raped by 4 men, who not only gang-raped for the entire night but then threw her like an object outside her house.

Padma Lakshmi

Padma Lakshmi in her book, "Love, Loss and What We Are", revealed that she was sexually assaulted by his own stepfather's relative at the age of 7.

Sexually abusing another human being is one of the most horrible things to do. It shatters a person totally and takes away everything she has inside her, either it is her self-confidence or her dreams and wishes from life. Not only this, the society also leaves no stone unturned to make her realise that she now doesn't deserve to grow up. We as a society need to take a stand and support each other rather than pulling each other down or degrading each other.
