Every day a lot of people come to Mumbai dreaming to become actors in the Hindi film industry and only a handful of them get to realise this dream. Vikas Shrivastav was once such person. The actor, who grew up in Sultanpur a small town in Uttar Pradesh, arrived in the city of dreams in 1999. After working and training himself extensively for several years, it was for him to try his luck in films. The twenty-year-old journey has not been easy but enriching nonetheless. After bagging his first film 'Gangaajal' in 2003', the actor went on to feature in a series of popular films like 'Gabbar Is Back', 'The Dirty Picture', 'Talaash The Hunt Begins', 'Dhoom 3' and 'Special 26'. He is also the first Indian actor after Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri and Irrfan Khan to make inroads in Hollywood. The actor has worked with A-list Hollywood actors like Stephen Lang of Avatar fame and X-Man's villain Vinnie Jones in 'The Gandhi Murder'.

The versatile actor is currently in the news for his portrayal of Nathuram Godse in the controversial film 'The Gandhi Murders'. The film, which also marks the late Om Puri's last outing on the big screen, releases on 30th January in several countries other than India.

Talking about the same, the actor says, "I am happy about the fact that the film is finally releasing in theatres. I am also a little disappointed that people In India will not get to see it at the moment. We spent a year fighting a battle with the Censor Board. Sixteen years after the murder of Mahatma Gandhi, a committee was set up which presented a report stating that the police and politicians knew about the fact that Godse had planned to murder Gandhi. Despite knowing about it, they did not prevent his murder. There was definitely a conspiracy behind his death. We have tried to tell a story in the most honest manner. Hope the film releases in India soon."

The actor has his hands full with a bunch of interesting films which will be releasing soon.

"The one project I am most excited about is 'Kadaram Kondan', a Tamil film produced by Kamal Haasan. I star in the film along with Vikram and Akshara Haasan and it was a great experience working with such a wonderful team."
