Within 24 hours of sharing the trailer of his home production`s upcoming project `Bard of Blood,` Shah Rukh found himself being attacked on the virtual front. The attacker was none other than Major Asif Ghafoor of the Pakistan Army.

The Major General bombard with a series of tweets aimed at the prestigious actor. He has lashed out at the actor for his involvement in the project and has insisted that Mr. Khan should instead `promote peace` and speak against the "atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir".

"Stay in Bollywood syndrome @iamsrk. For reality see RAW Spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Wing Comd Abhinandan & state of 27 Feb 2019. You could rather promote peace & humanity by speaking against atrocities in IOJ&K and against Hindituva of Nazism obsessed RSS. (sic)" Major General Asif Ghafoor said in his tweet.

The trailer shows the majority of the action taking place in Baluchistan, and has seemed to touch a major nerve with the Pakistan Government. This controversy comes at a time of a difficult political transition, with Article 370 being repealed from the state of Jammu and Kashmir which has forever made this disputed territory a part of Indian soil. Moreover, Pakistan`s geopolitical status has taken a series of hits. Last week on Friday, it was blacklisted by the Asia-Pacific Group of FATF for its failure to take drastic measures against terrorism funding.

Pakistan has also been in the news for its embarrassment at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). India claimed that the `alleged` spy Kulbhushan Jadhav was only a civilian and was abducted by extremist groups. This is a major kick to the groin, as ICJ has ordered Pakistan to provide immediate diplomatic access to Jadhav.

Following the promotion of `Bard of Blood`, Shah Rukh Khan has been brutally trolled on social media, with people hurling abuses and insults in the name of nationalism. Reliable sources have confirmed that in the light of current events, security measures have gone up as Mr. Khan has received death threats.

Sources have revealed that several Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Vehicles, designed specifically to withstand improvised explosive device (IED) attacks and ambushes have been brought to strengthen the security.

This isn`t the first time the Bollywood superstar has needed such impenetrable security. Only last year, a group called Karni Sena made a threat to ink Shah Rukh Khan`s face. The group expressed their frustration over his role in the film `Asoka`, for bending the true-to-account narrative of the Battle of Kalinga. The security team for the superstar will be headed by Rahul, who hails from Delhi and is said to be an SRK loyalist.

`Bard of Blood` is an upcoming Netflix original series from India based on Bilal Siddiqi`s novel of the same name.

`Bard of Blood` is about Kabir Anand (Emraan Hashmi) a school teacher who is brought back into his old life as a RAW agent to lead a rescue mission along with Isha Khanna (Sobhita Dhulipala) and Veer (Vineet Kumar Singh). However, tensions rise and tempers flare between the three as things take a wrong turn.

The eight-part series will premiere on Netflix on September 27, 2019.
