Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is riding high on success ever since his film 'Dream Girl' has hit the cinema across the country. His box-office numbers and appreciation that the actor is receiving from the audience and the critics is commendable. Ayushmann Khurrana finally opens up about his first thought when he was offered 'Dream Girl', and about the pressure after winning National Award and how he deals with stories which focus on social issues and are yet the most entertaining.

Taking about his choice of scripts, Ayushmann Khurrana says, "That it was a blockbuster of a script. It seemed like a really commercial, masala film. But after speaking with the makers, I was convinced about it, and took it up".

"Yes, it's a happy pressure that people are expecting good cinema out of me. It also gives me courage with regards to my choices. I can be more radical and push the envelope as a risk taker", says Ayushmann on the pressure ever since winning the National Award.

Talking about his brave choice of films which focusses on social issues yet entertaining, Ayushmann says, "It's about going for the subject which is entirely new for Indian cinema. The milieu may not have to be different; the story has to be different. We, as actors, are very self-obsessed in the sense that we want to look different and be in a space with every film. The audience is not really waiting to see a different you, but a different story. Of course, you will get ample opportunities in the future to portray different characters. With me, it happened in Andhadhun (2018) and Article 15, but my staple is quirky, taboo-breaking subjects".

'Dream Girl' is already receiving positive response from the critics and the audience and the film which opened at a massive 10.05 CR on Day 1 is proof that the film is a massive hit. The film is exceptionally, insanely funny and the audience can't stop laughing even after leaving the theater, a positive word of mouth has also helped the film for double-digit opening.

The film has been garnering rave reviews and loudest applaud during the screening and the testimony of the same is the massive numbers at the box office, on its opening day itself. The positive word of mouth has gone far and resulted into the double-digit opening for Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl co-starring Nushrat Bharucha.

The film has been garnering immense love and appreciation ever since the trailer came out. Audiences were eager to watch Ayushmann Khurrana in this unusual avatar.

Dream Girl is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms. It released on September 13, 2019.
