Small screen actress, Achint Kaur who has never looked back after her debut serial Banegi Apni Baat,
hopes that her latest Virrudh goes down well with the audience.
"The approach to the story is
good. The perception towards characters is also good. It is an intense and well written story. But there is
always this fear of not faring well. So we all are praying that it really does well," she says in an interview.
Achint, who plays the character, 'Vedika' in the show produced and directed by Smriti Irani claims that the
role was interesting and had different shades to it.
According to her 'Vedika', who is Smriti's sister and Vikram Gokhale's daughter in the soap is rebellious
within. She becomes an alcoholic due to various reasons. However, she is also very warm-hearted and loves
her family. The character has both negative and positive shades.
Achint is confident of the role she takes up. Says she: "I'm particular about the roles that I play. I like to
play characters which have individuality. Characters which are strong and stand up on their own and can
sustain themselves. I really look to doing these kinds of characters."
Her frank admission is that she came into acting by fluke. Some one offered her a role and she took it up.
Earlier, she wanted to do a lot of things that would earn fame for her. She wanted to be an IPS officer when
she got married. She had also tried her hands at designing. But acting was never on her mind.
Achint feels that the television industry has undergone a lot of changes since the time she came a decade
back. She has enjoyed doing all the characters till date.
"Right from Anushka in Banegi Apni Baat
till the present day Pallavi in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, I have enjoyed every role that I have played."
Achint has always played strong and bold characters. She has also acted in cameos in films like
Corporate, Julie, Sur, Om Jai Jagadish and Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai.
