The courtroom drama film Ponmagal Vandhal has just released today and has received rave reviews already! The film has been directed by J. J. Fredrick in his debut and produced by Suriya. It premiered digitally today on Amazon Prime Video and is the first film to be launched on direct-to-stream. Various eminent film-makers from the south industry took the social media by the storm with praises for the film and Jyothika's impactful acting!

Director Vignesh Shivan took to his social media and said that the film was executed well and with dignity for a delicate topic. He tweeted:

Director P. Bharathiraja commented that the film would have an impact on society. He tweeted in Tamil the translation to which is:

"These women have come for women, who have been living at the age of indecisiveness, living outdoors. This is not a film for women, it is a lesson for sex offenders .. Director's movement and Jodhika's emotional performance"

Apart from Jyothika, the film has an ensemble cast including R. Parthiban, K. Bhagyaraj, Thiagarajan, Pandiarajan and Pratap Pothen.
