Neha Dhupia was to perform at a star-studded concert for Shoot Out At Lokhandwala (directed by Apoorva Lakhia) on Sunday night, but flew off to Zurich for an event
attended by socialite Paris Hilton officially appearing in filmmaker Sanjay Gupta's bad books.
Dia Mirza was hosting the event, so a special medley of songs was created for Neha. But the evening before the rehearsals when Dharam Oberoi (one of the directors of
White Feather Films) called Neha to say that she was out of town at the last minute. So the crew were left without a performer until of Koena Mitra and Ishaa Kopikkar
stepped in and to do the show.
Gupta on the other hand has now decided to pull Neha's out from all the promotional campaigns for the film. Even at the event, all the promos were shown except for the
ones with Neha in it. She will also be left out of all the branding promos.
Gupta says, "It speaks for Neha's unprofessional work ethics that she didn't perform. I am eternally indebted to Isha and Koena for bailing us out at 24 hours notice.
They didn't charge a single rupee nor did Sanju (Dutt) have to call them. Their gracious act has humbled us all. Neha ditched us just to walk the ramp with Paris Hilton in
Switzerland.
Neha Dhupia, for her part, says, "It's very unfortunate the way things happened. It is a mix up of dates and a genuine misunderstanding.
I had committed to dates for the Zurich event a long time ago, and despite my best efforts to try and reschedule, it wasn't possible. I did try to explain the situation to all
concerned.
