Immediately after having announced its first television venture 'Meri Aawaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni', Fox productions has already started shooting another daily soap for Star Plus, which is tentatively titled 'Sangam'. The show is scheduled to go on air sometime next month.

Sources in the television industry claim that the show is a first of-sorts for Star Plus; the story is to be played out against a village backdrop, much in contrast to the other shows aired on the channel which almost always have an urban setting.

It may be noted that rival channel, Zee, airs the popular serial 'Jab Love Hua' which also portrays the life of its characters in a village.

A source from Star has confirmed that the serial is being shot but refused to divulge any further details regarding the story and characters.

However, our sources have confirmed that Jennifer Winget plays the protagonist in the serial. Known as a Balaji loyalist, she has acted in popular shows like Kasauti Zindagi Kay and Kahiin To Hoga and was also seen as Abhishek Bachchan's sister in the movie 'Kuch Na Kaho'.

The male lead in the serial is Chaitanya Chaudhry who played the role of Akshat in Kahiin To Hoga. The show will also feature television's popular bad boy Shaleen Bhanot in a negative character that he claims 'was never seen before in the history of television'.
