Actress Sanya Malhotra had become the talk of the town after the release of her recent film Shakuntala Devi where she has essayed the role of Anupama Banarjee, daughter of Shakuntala Devi.

Sanya made her debut with Dangal where she played the character of Babita Phogat and received appreciation for capturing the essence of her character.

With both these films, Sanya has delivered encapsulating performances and it's certainly that the actress is attracted towards playing characters that are strong, independent and empowering for the audience.

Elaborating more on the two films, in a recent interview Sanya spoke about how Shakuntala Devi is a complete biopic as opposed to films that are inspired by famous personalities whereas Dangal was inspired from true events which gave the team some freedom to bring their own elements to the characters that they played.

Sanya Malhotra will next be seen in Ludo and Pagglait.
