'Kaun Banega Crorepati' went out last Thursday on a thumping and winning note, with Shah Rukh Khan inviting the star pair together on TV for the first time, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

The other star glamour was represented by Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor who have featured in a cola ad and in Don together. All fvour and the anchor were in their element and SRK as usual managed to take away some attention from the Abhiash wedding ceremonies going on elsewhere.

On a negative note, the Orissa state government which celebrated the birth anniversary of noted Sanskrit poet Jayadev, decided to file a complaint with Star Plus TV channel for "wrong" information beamed about the iconic poet on the popular game show!

"We strongly object to the KBC programme of April 16 when its anchor Shah Rukh Khan informed viewers that Jayadev had served Bengal king Laxman Sen, which is not a fact," said culture minister S.N. Patro. The question asked in the quiz show was about the language in which Jayadev had composed Geeta Govinda.

Patro said that historians and researchers had proved that the poet was born at Kenduli village in Orissa's Khurda district. "Though the poet wrote in Sanskrit, he was a pure Oriya," he said. As such the Orissa government has strongly objected to the "mutilation" of historical facts and a letter has been to Star Plus taking the channel to task.

Apparently, the KBC programme raked up some bitterness across the state, and the city-based Jayadev Foundation Trust has demanded an apology from the makers of the game show. - (SAMPURN)
