Last year, the film 'Cargo' made waves in the international film circuit when it was screened at the MAMI Film Festival and was selected for 15 more international film festivals. Now, finally, after a year Netflix has announced the release date of 'Cargo' which stars Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi in the lead roles.

Netflix made the film announcement through a meme, referencing Vikrant and Shweta's most-hyped web-series, 'Mirzapur: Season 2' which will stream on Amazon Prime. The hilarious meme is getting everyone's attention and now everyone is ready for this sci-fi film. Even Anurag Kashyap also shout out for the film on his Instagram story and reshared the meme. More about 'Cargo', then it follows a female astronaut (Shweta Tripathi) who meets a rather aloof astronaut (Vikrant Messey) on a spacecraft. The story shows how she gains cognizance of the enigmatic shipments which land on the craft through her expedition.

Written and directed by Arati Kadav, 'Cargo' will directly release on Netflix, September 9th onwards. The sci-fi film, which premiered at 2019 MAMI Film Festival under the spotlight section, revolves around a spaceship named Pushpak 634A where dead people are recycled for rebirth.
