Saiee Manjrekar who made her Bollywood debut opposite Salman Khan in 'Dabangg 3', has now set to mark her presence in South film industry. As the actress locked her dates for Sashi Kiran Tikka's bilingual war-drama film, 'Major'. The film will shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindu, is inspired by the life of NSG commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was martyred in the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008.

Saiee Manjrekar took to Twitter to share the news and tweeted, "Honoured, humbled and excited to be a part of the braveheart, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's biopic. It's a film based on the NSG Commando, who fought with utmost bravery in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Can't wait to join the cast and start shooting next month! #MajorTheFilm." Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, 'Major' stars Adivi Sesh in the title role and Sobhita Dhulipala in a pivotal role. According to the news reports, "Saiee will join the sets of the film next month in Hyderabad. So far, the team has completed 50 percent of the shoot." The film will be produced by Sony Pictures Films India in association with Mahesh Babu's GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies. The film is all set for a 2021 summer release.
