This year has been proved as a bigger pandemic for most of us but can't say the same for Ayushmann Khurrana. As he is blessed with his hard work and the contribution he has invested in the films and social work. This month, he was appointed as the celebrity advocate for children's rights campaigns by UNICEF India and a few days back, he was listed at 'Time Magazine's list of 100 Most Influential People' for his film choices such as 'Andhadhun' and 'Badhaai Ho' and is listed under the artists' category. Now his films are showcasing at the international level. As of Sunday, his film 'Bala' became a part of Indo-German Film Week and premiered at the film festival.

Ayushmann Khurrana took to his Instagram story and shared a poster of Bala and quoted, "Absolutely thrilled to announce that Bala will be showcased at Indo-German Filmweek 2020 in Berlin." In the film, Ayushmann plays the role of a young man who suffers premature balding but hides this fact from his girlfriend (Yami Gautam). They eventually marry but later on Yami leaves him when she gets to know about her reality. Bhumi Pednekar, who plays the role of Ayushmann's childhood friend, dismisses beauty standards set by society and helps Bala understand his reality and convince him to accept what he is and he doesn't need to change himself for anyone.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film was written by Niren Bhatt, Ravi Muppa, and produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film was based on an original story by Bengali film director Pavel Bhattacharjee about the life of Rohit Sood. Apart from Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam, the film also featured Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Javed Jaffrey, Saurabh Shukla, and Seema Pahwa in the supporting roles. Made on a budget of ₹25 crores, Bala received generally positive reviews from critics, and it grossed ₹170 crores worldwide.
