Actor Sucheeta Trivedi who is playing the lead in Indiawali Maa has been deeply affected by the Hathras gang rape. The actor says that it's high time we reflect on ourselves as a country. "Shame on us as a nation . On what grounds should we celebrate Navratri this year? We are living in a delusional society where man and woman equality is a far fetched concept. Today, after this incident, it is yet again proved that women are treated worse than animals,"says Sucheeta, who is seen in the show India Wali Maa.

The actor says that we are all responsible for this state of women in our country. "We all are insensitive and we all are responsible for the brutal humiliation and mutilation of a pure soul. Ham sab jaat, gotra, dharma, pradesh, rashtra, raajniti aur Netaon ke changul aur chatukari mey aise phans gaye hain, Ke ab ham waapas insaan nahi ban sakte.. Insaan bananke liye hamame insaniyat hi nahi bachi hai. Kyunki aparadh ham sabane kiya hai.. Aparadhi ham sab hain. (We are stuck in the confines of caste system and politics and are in the control of politicians, we cannot become human again. To be human, you need humanity, which we don't have. We are the culprits)," she says.
