Sony TV's Kaun Banega Crorepati has recently got itself into serious trouble for one of the questions asked during Friday's Karamveer special episode. An FIR is lodged against Kaun Banega Crorepati and its host Amitabh Bachchan for "hurting the sentiments of some Hindus".

This comes after Amitabh Bachchan asked a question related to 'Manusmriti' in the Karamveer episode. social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anoop Soni came as guests in the show. The question was for Rs 6,40,000 and it read "On 25 December 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture? The options given were, a) Vishnu Purana, b) Bhagavad Gita, c) Rigdev, and d) Manusmriti."

Big B announced that the answer to the question was Manusmriti and further he said that "In 1927, Dr. BR Ambedkar condemned the ancient Hindu text Manusmriti to ideologically justify caste discrimination and untouchability and he also burned copies of it."

The question was not appreciated by the netizens and a particular section of the society. They claimed that the show is promoting 'Leftists propaganda while others blamed it for "hurting Hindu sentiments". The FIR was registered in Lucknow.
