Imran Khan has started his career with romantic comedy Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Nain and later starred in several commercially successful films like I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Delhi Belly (2011) and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), which were his last commercially successful films. But after that, his career was followed by a series of box-office flops. Now it has been 5 years of his disappearance from the film industry and recently his closest friend in the film industry Akshay Oberoi has confirmed that the actor has quit the acting.

In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, Akshay said, "My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting. Imran is my closest friend, whom I can get up at 4 am and call. I and Imran have been with each other for almost 18 years, we studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Andheri West."

Akshay further shared by clarifying that the actor will soon direct a film and said, "See, Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon. Also, when Imran directs, I know he will make a wonderful film because his sensibility and understanding of cinema are very high."

Well, last time we saw the actor in Nikhil Advani's romantic comedy 'Katti Batti' (2015), opposite Kangana Ranaut. The film opened to mixed reviews and was another box-office failure for him and till now it is his final release. Besides acting in films, Khan is a social activist. He often speaks about issues related to Indian society and young people including the elimination of violence against women, political awareness and sex education. Imran Khan became a columnist for the Hindustan Times in March 2009 and continues contributing occasionally to the paper. Well, we hope the actor will do a comeback on the big screen or digitally just like other actors.
