‘Sa Re Ga M Pa' is beginning its second phase of the competition with Khayyam and Rajesh Roshan replacing Asha Bhosle as the mahagurus of the show. The competition
continues as the contestants sing songs composed by Ismail Darbar.
It could not come at a better time, as Friday happens to be the birthday of this music composer. Even Ismail stuns the audience after he picks up his violin after a gap of 10
years and gives an astounding performance.
Ismail even promises to give his "pacchees (25) saaloon ki mehnat ka fal" to the singer whose performance would
touch his heart. It was supposedly something very special; invaluable and unattainable.
The competition was tough and the singers got their share of praises and criticism, but unfortunately none of them could convince Ismail. However, Apurva and Sumedha got
the farman to move ahead, while Raja Hasan from the ‘Eklavya' gharana gets selected in Vishal Shekhar's ‘Hit It' ghrana.
There is a big surprise in waiting for Ismail at the end of the show. His family is being called upon and his birthday is celebrated with great pomp and show. It was an
extremely touching moment for Ismail Darbar when the song ".........zamana ..." in which his father had played solo saxophone was performed on the stage.
