Madhur Bhandarkar is one of those few directors who have looked to deal with sensitive subjects. Right from ‘Chandni Bar' to ‘Satta' to ‘Page 3' to ‘Traffic Signal' all his films
have dealt with issues that have prevailed in the society, but have always been ignored not only by the commoners, but also by other director.
Madhur started his career assisting Ram Gopal Verma and made his directorial debut with ‘Trishakti' in 1999, which unfortunately did not work well at the box office. Next,
came ‘Chandi Bar' starring Tabu and Atul Kulkarni and this film won him a national award.
After that there was no stopping Madhur. ‘Satta' (Raveena Tandon), ‘Aan', ‘Page 3', ‘Corporate' and then came ‘Traffic Signal'. Madhur won his second national award for
‘Page 3'. All these movies had exposed the faults in the systems.
Madhur is currently working on his film ‘Fashion' and at the same time is toying on the idea of making a film on film awards. This film will deal with what happens behind
every award ceremony and how awards are manipulated.
Yet another bold film Madhur, but will you deal with the national awards too?
ge their work."
