Actress Banita Sandhu, who rose to fame from Shoojit Sircar's romantic drama film, 'October' has tested COVID-19 positive. Banita was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata as she refused to be treated in a government quarantine center. The actress was shooting for Kavita & Teresa in the city. As per the sources she traveled on the same flight in which people from the United Kingdom were also travelling who were infected with the new mutant coronavirus strain.
On Monday, Banita detected the new COVID-19 strains and was admitted to the Beliaghata Infectious Diseases Hospital but the actress refused to get out of the ambulance while stating the reasons that the hospital is equipped with poor infrastructure. After that hospital officials called the local police and they intervened and shifted her into a private hospital.
The health department officials sent her tested samples to Kalyani's National Institute of Biomedical Genomics to confirm whether the actress is infected with the new strain of the coronavirus or not.
