Media reports sometimes truly distort the truth. Just yesterday, gossip magazines and television news channels were agog with rumors of a possible split between Sallubhai and his ladylove Katrina Kaif because he was seen walking the red carpet at an IIFA event with an unknown pretty young thing.

The young lady with Salman has now been identified as Narmada Ahuja, the teenage daughter of actor Govinda.

It turns out Govinda was running late for the IIFA event so Narmada, who is close to Salman, asked her father if she could go to the event with Salman Chachu.

Govinda consented and the rest is media gossip.

Salman and Govinda came close after Salman helped Govinda re-enter the film industry through breaks in films such as Salaam-e-Ishq and the forthcoming Partner.

According to a leading tabloid, Salman treats Narmada like his own daughter and fondly calls her Namu.

So it's safe to assume that the Salman-Katrina romance continues to stand on firm ground though you can be sure of more gossip on the relationship in the days ahead.
