The laxity on the part of the Rajasthan police caused Shilpa Shetty harassment at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport en-route to the UK.
Shilpa apparently had a traumatic time at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport about ten days days ago, while on her way to the IIFA awards function when the
emigration authorities refused to let her fly to London, insisting that a lookout notice had been issued in her name.
A leading Mumbai daily reported about how this
look out notice (issued in criminal cases and served at exit points of a country) issued by a court in Rajasthan in the obscenity case against Shilpa and Hollywood actor
Richard Gere, caused the particular fiasco.
Shilpa had appeared along with Hollywood star at a charity function in Delhi some two months ago where Gere had
publicly kissed Shetty following which there were protests throughout the country and the above mentioned notice.
The actress did have a relief against the look-out notice from the Supreme Court but was not carrying it with her. And the authorities refused to listen to her.
And
only after over two hours when her father came in with the SC order, was she allowed to proceed to UK. Says Shilpa Shetty's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar, "The Airport
embarrassment happened because the Alwar police (Rajasthan) failed to retract the look out notice for Shilpa Shetty at the international airports, though the Supreme Court
had already given a relief to Shilpa against the look out notice".
Had they been more vigilant, the dusky damsel would have been spared of all the trauma.
