Emraan Hashmi is the new king of shydom. Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan are very shy men but Hashmi takes the cake.

So when On Tuesday, after a screening of Awarapan at Adlabs everybody was looking for Emraan to compliment him but he was nowhere to be found.

And where was Mr. Hashmi? Believe it or not! He had locked himself in the loo to avoid receiving bouquets

Hashmi's wife Parveen was the culprit who let out the secret to everyone. He refused to come out till everyone had left!"

Apparently, Emraan does this after all his trials if he feels people will praise him.

At the trial of Awarapan Emraan who also suffers stage fright, was given a standing ovation embarrassing about getting compliments.

Mahesh Bhatt confirmed the incident and said Emraan had a problem dealing with attention. Emraan instead of grabbing attention as an actor, withdraws from it.

His awkwardness stems from the fact that all actors are basically very shy.

Bhatt adds that Emraan has done a magnificent job in Awarapan. "Mohit (Suri, director) has touched a blazing silence in him.

Great performances are marked from silence, such as Ajay Devgan in Zakhm, Amitabh Bachchan in Deewar and Dilip Kumar in Ganga Jamuna. In Awarapan, Emraan parallels those performances," Bhatt adds.

Meanwhile, Emraan confirms the incident saying, "I do feel uncomfortable with all the attention and praise, but it's not like I planned to hide inside the loo all along!
