My holiday destinations depend on what mood I am in. If it's for shopping then is has to be either London or Dubai, for adventure and romance it just has to be Europe. I have just returned from Italy after spending a month there. This time around it was special since I had taken along my kids.

Italy - Bella Italia, the Bel Paese - is a country of extremes. It has something to offer to every visitor, from snow-capped peaks to hot lazy Mediterranean beaches, and unspoilt countryside to cities that have bustled for thousands of years. It was through my dad that I got to know about this beautiful place and since then I visit quite often.

I love experimenting, doing things that are not hackneyed. So every time I go to the country I keep experimenting with food, hotel and places. The people, the climate, the amazing architecture and the little green villages will get you engrossed in the euphoric beauty of this place.

This time, I was a proud mother, showing around the places to my kids. We went to Rome and Venice. This reminds me of an incident when we were in a restaurant. There was this guy singing Italian songs with the menu of pizzas and pastas mentioned in the lyrics. It made us all laugh our heart out.

My only suggestion to those who are planning a holiday in Italy is --- go there and experiment with everything, don't visit only recommended places. Do visit Amalfi coast, it's just beautiful. Another tip --- bargain, bargain and bargain as much as you can.
