Of all the hype Sony Entertainment's "Jhalak Dikhlaja" is creating, most can be linked to singer Mika Mehndi for his poor performances and low scores. But it seems that
the first day on the dance floor has changed Mika a lot. Earlier, the late-riser was blamed for his habit as it was affecting his rehearsals.
But now Mika is all set to woo the judges and audiences. His choreographer Tanushree says he is totally devoted to dancing and a willing learner now. In fact, Mika's
attitude has also changed. No more does he aim to score a better total, he is just resolved to get better remarks from his judges.
In real life too, the Bhangra Rap has faced many challenges to get to where he is now.
The brother of well-known singer Daler Mehndi and the youngest of the six
brothers, Mika quit school at the age of eight for his love of music, especially singing. He started out singing kirtans and traversed a long way to carve a niche for himself in
the Indi-pop scene.
The singer says: "I don't care about the scores any more. I need the best comments and motivation from the judges. I can't let my fans down either. The judges will have to
be on my side during my next performance. I am working towards that."
Late-riser he might be, but at least he has woken up from his slumber in the show in time. Go for it, Mika.
