Budding actress Vidya Malavade aka Vidya Sharma of "Chak De! India" fame is quite happy at being identified only by her character's name. The actress was in the capital Thursday to launch the exclusive flagship store of silver jewellery brand Lucera at Select City Walk Mall. "I am proud to be recognised as the Indian hockey team captain of 'Chak De! India'. I am astonished and overwhelmed by the response I am getting from people of all age groups," Vidya told. "Sometimes people come and thank me for saving the last goal because of which India won the match in the film. That is unbelievable, as that was pre-decided and had to happen anyway!" she beamed. Decked in dirty pink noodle strap loose evening dress, brown wedge heels and glittering dangler earrings, Vidya said she was extremely fond of jewellery, like every other woman. "I love jewellery; especially diamonds and coloured gem stones are my favourites. Although I like silver as it doesn't dig a hole in your pocket. Also if you spend the same amount of money on silver jewellery instead of buying gold or diamond you can acquire a variety of accessories and look new every day." Lucera is a brand of Renaissance Retail Venture Pvt. Ltd. (RRVPL) owned by Mumbai-based Renaissance Jewellery Ltd. Speaking on the occasion Hitesh Shah, director of RRVPL said: "The concept of our store represents a modern metaphor to represent contemporary jewellery." "The identity is established through freestanding modules, which allow jewellery to be presented within pockets of contrasting and complementing colours," added R.K Menon, chief executive officer of RRVPL. The 500-sq feet store displays necklaces, earrings, tops, bangles, rings, anklets and bracelets of varied designs and styles.
