Akshay Kumar is in trouble for his Sikh look in Vipul Shah's film Singh Is King.

From the time the first promotional still of the film was released, there have been voices of dissent over Akshay's look in the film. The clean-shaven face under a trendy turban did not really make Akshay look like a true Singh.

And now, another photograph of Akshay from the film's sets in Australia has met with objections. The image was reportedly taken by the paparazzi and posted on the Internet.

Locals from Punjabi community in Australia have particularly expressed their displeasure over the way Akshay is wearing a turban in the photo.

However, director Vipul Shah insists that the photo does not depict Akki's real look in the film. It was taken without permission.

Shah says Akshay is himself a Punjabi and is working in close coordination with stylist Shabina Khan for his look in the film. Apart from this, a local Sikh is always on the sets to guide Akshay about how to wear a turban.

Vipul also makes it clear that his film does not ridicule any community. Rather, it shows Sikhs as the brave and courageous people.
